» Ina Centaur Biography (Concise Version)

Ina Centaur is a modern polymath with professional experience and distinction in virtual worlds, digital art and design, English literature, computer programming, engineering (bioengineering and structural engineering) and physics. In 1998, she registered Nusoy.com to find her web design company as a high school freshman. The company, now inactive, grew to become a consortium of over three dozen teen designers from around the world with project totals ranging over a million US dollars per year, and, in addition to early experience in leadership in an international organization, gave her her first professional experience as both a digital artist and programmer. Her notable literary achievements include a precocious start, where she became a published novelist at age twelve, distinction in essay contests, and playwriting, and more recently, the finding of sLiterary, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering literary and artistic endeavors on Second Life and other virtual worlds. Her formal educational background is a triple major in bioengineering, physics, and philosophy, at UCSD from 2002 to 2006. UCSD is a top-notch research and liberal arts school, where she took a number of graduate-level courses and seminars to gain a working knowledge of quantum physics, string theory, and biomechanics. Since early 2007, she has immersed herself in Second Life with the goal of integrating her various skills into a holistic endeavor. She regards her role as the SL Shakespeare Company executive producer and visual/creative director to be an ideal balance of her leadership skills and creativity. This is the flagship project of her current career as an independent artist specializing in digital-media.
